-Search for approved local & international suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the suppliers reputation and history. -Negotiate with the suppliers to achieve best material price offer and best service. -Issue purchase order as requested ensuring on time delivery of the required quantities. -Review and follow up on all local & foreign purchase orders requested by all concerned parties/departments. -Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in case of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods. -Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery. -Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department. -Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders. -Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers. -Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation. -Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents. -Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Qualifications -BA degree from reputable university. - 3-5 years of experience. -Excellent command of English language. -Excellent negotiation skills. -Competent communication skills and good interpersonal skills. -Experience in the issuance of purchase orders. -Experience in opening letters of credit and follow-up. -Experience in the follow-up customs procedures until clearance from reliance on goods from abroad until delivery.
