Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:- Safety & health manger responsibilities will cover, for example, fire safety, safe use of machinery or noises. His duties involve:- 1. Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risk could be reduced; 2. Outing safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards; 3. Making needed changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislations ; 4. Preparing safety & health strategy and develop in-house policy; 5. Being up to date with new legislations and maintain knowledge for all safety & health executive legislations and any developments that affect the employers industry; 6. Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being implemented in proper way; 7. Keeping records of inspection findings and preparing reports that suggest improvements; 8. Ensure the safe installation of equipment and machines; 9. Attending institutions of occupational safety and health (IOSH) seminars and provide report including his recommendation to improve safety and health procedures in the company; 10. Carrying out in-house training about safety and health issues. 11. Responsible for establishing and applying suitable KPI system. 12. Ensuring that employers and workers comply with safety legislation and safety policies and practices. 13. He works in team and partnership with employer ,employees and directors to minimize :- • Operation losses; • Occupational health problems; • Accidents; • Injuries. 14. Leading in –house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks; 15. Recording incidents and accidents; 16. Managing and organizing safe disposal of hazardous substances; 17. Producing and submit management reports; 18. Providing advisories on the following topics:- • Fire regulations, • Hazardous substances; • Noise reducing; • Safe guarding machinery; • Occupational diseases.
Qualifications MSc degree in occupational health & safety or Bachelor of science plus diploma in the aforementioned field; with 8 – 10 years of experience in relevant fields, background of experience in field of chemical engineering or fertilizers is preferable.
